RunCline offers manual entry of incline information within the app and can automatically transmit it via Bluetooth. Additionally, it can directly read incline data from compatible smart treadmills. The app is also capable of connecting to external foot pods and heart rate monitors, transmitting the collected metrics over Bluetooth seamlessly. The primary functionality of RunCline is to pair your phone or tablet with Zwift, enabling the display of incline, power, speed, cadence, and heart rate metrics. During your run, RunCline conveniently showcases all these metrics on the screen.

Moreover, with some advanced smart treadmills, RunCline has the capacity to control incline settings based on Zwift data from a PC or Mac.

Starting from version 1.6.7, RunCline has added Apple Watch compatibility for heart rate monitoring and display of certain running metrics. The heart rate feature utilizes HealthKit to deliver real-time heart rate values to RunCline while storing the data in Apple Health.

Requirements: To utilize the app effectively, users must pair a Bluetooth-compatible foot pod and/or a supported smart treadmill with RunCline. Alternatively, for users without these devices, selecting the VirtualPod option from the Foot Pods list enables RunCline to serve as a source for speed and incline metrics for Zwift.

Pairing screen:

  • Select a foot pod or smart treadmill (required)
  • Select a heart rate monitor (optional)
  • The "Searching" button will change to "Start" once the foot pod device or smart treadmill is successfully paired. In case the Start button doesn’t appear within 5 seconds, activating your foot pod by walking or running might be necessary.

RunCline screen: This screen displays running metrics collected from the foot pod, smart treadmill, and/or heart rate monitor. These metrics are then transmitted to Zwift over Bluetooth. Besides live monitoring options, users can view average metrics from the last 10 seconds. In the absence of a smart treadmill connection, users can manually adjust incline levels using the + and - buttons. Furthermore, RunCline allows users to receive metric values audibly by utilizing the Volume Up and Down buttons on their devices.

Runcline is versatile and can be utilized outdoors as well. The app provides audio cues at set intervals during runs and can help users maintain their pace or power targets through audio prompts. Users have the ability to define specific workouts based on pace, distance, or power levels within RunCline. Detailed log reports generated after each workout include a comprehensive summary of running metrics captured by the foot pod among other details.
